Meghan Critchley

Meghan Critchley was born and raised in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where she began dancing at a young age at a local studio. Meghan went on to study Dance Science and earn her BFA from the University of Wyoming in 2015.  

In 2022, Meghan completed her doctoral thesis examining prevalence and risk factors of dance-related injury in pre-professional ballet dancers at the University of Calgary. She continues to focus on the health and wellness of dancers, and studies injury prevention strategies, to promote long, healthy, dance careers.

Margarita Rebetskaya

Margarita (Rita) Rebetskaya was born in Moscow, Russia, where she began her training in rhythmicgymnastics at the age of 5. At 14, Rita was admitted to the Igor Moiseyev Dance Academy, and upongraduation, she joined the Igor Moiseyev Ballet. With this company, Rita had the privilege of traveling andperforming around the world. Rita is also a graduate of the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts, specializing in theater criticism. In 2016, she founded an inclusive theatre called InterAction. Rita relocated to Canada with her family in 2021 and now Character teacher for Alberta Ballet School.

Kaitlyn Seibold

Kaitlyn Seibold is a movement researcher, choreographer, and educator based in Mohkinstsis (Calgary), AB. She holds a BFA in Dance Performance from Toronto Metropolitan University and an MFA in Choreography and Collaboration from York University, where she received the Lipson Family Endowment Award for choreographic promise. Kaitlyn has taught contemporary dance at Toronto Metropolitan University, York University, and in studios and intensives across Canada. With over a decade of teaching experience, she is dedicated to fostering both technical development and creative exploration in her students.

Her teaching draws from extensive training in Graham, Limón, Horton, Flying Low, and Gaga techniques, blending these influences to support dancers in building versatility, strength, and expressive range. As a performer and creator, Kaitlyn has worked with renowned choreographers across Canada and Europe and continues to perform with Project InTandem and Ballet Bodies YYC. Her most recent performance was Exile by Meghann Michalsky, presented in 2025 at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. With over 30 original works to her name, Kaitlyn’s choreographic practice explores the intersections of physicalized theatre and contemporary movement, encouraging dancers to embody the emotional and physical complexity of performance.

Marina Fedorov

Marina began her music journey at 5 years old in Ukraine. She dedicated many childhood years to piano lessons and successfully participated in young composer competitions. She graduated from Tchaikovsky Academic Music College at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory in 1991. She continued music career in Israel, teaching piano and playing at local events and schools. Marina moved to Calgary in 2001 and began playing at Alberta Ballet School in 2003 and later began playing full-time in 2009. Mariana was promoted to Head Musician in 2020. Marina’s passion and experience allow her to be an integral support for students and staff of Alberta Ballet School in all different ways including classes, ballet examinations, auditions and performances.

Juanita Faas

Juanita Faas’s passion for music started as a child when she began training in classical and jazz music. She went on to receive her ARCT in Performance and majored in music at Anderson University in Anderson Indiana. 
 
In 1981 she started her career as a ballet accompanist with Medicine Hat College where she had the opportunity to further train and expand her skills.  
 
After 20+ years of accompanying ballet, she took some time to further her career as a performer touring throughout North America. During this time, Juanita professionally released 5 CD’s. She was commissioned by composer Dennis Van Westerborg to perform, compose, arrange and score his music (Soundscapes) for a 29-piece orchestra at Oceanway Studio in Nashville Tennessee.  
 
In 2006, Juanita accompanied jazz vocalist Steve Darmody, President of Morning ESong Records, Swanee Georgia at Carnegie Hall New York. That same year, she was also invited to play the Pageant of Peace Concert at Presidents Park at the White House, by CMP.  
 
In 2014, Juanita accompanied Joan Rivers in her comedy routine at Medicine Hat Esplanade Performing Arts Center.  
 
Juanita joined Alberta Ballet as a full-time musician in 2017 where she continues to share her love of music, inspire and to be inspired by these talented dancers.

Juanita Faas

Juanita Faas’s passion for music started as a child when she began training in classical and jazz music. She went on to receive her ARCT in Performance and majored in music at Anderson University in Anderson Indiana. 
 
In 1981 she started her career as a ballet accompanist with Medicine Hat College where she had the opportunity to further train and expand her skills.
