Alberta Ballet School is the official training centre of Alberta Ballet.

Alberta Ballet School offers exclusive opportunities for students to connect with Alberta Ballet’s artistic team and with international dance talent that Alberta Ballet presents as part of the season. Students take part in Master Classes with choreographers, and they fill supporting cast roles when Alberta Ballet performs large cast productions such as The Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker.

Alberta Ballet School has been offering professional ballet training since 1991, and over that time, our alumni work with professional dance companies across the world.

In just the last two years, 17 of our recent graduates have gone on to dance in world-class companies such as Hong Kong Ballet, Moscow Ballet, Kiev Ballet, and the National Ballet of Japan.

You’ll also see recent graduates in the Alberta Ballet company of dancers. Melissa Eguchi, Tanya Chumak, Jennifer and Alex Gibson, Sayuri Nakanii, and Brittany Broussard are all recent School alumni.

Alberta Ballet School is proud to carry on the legacy of Alberta Ballet’s co-founders, Ruth Carse and Muriel Taylor, who took the first step in their journey to establish a professional ballet company in Alberta by starting a dance school in Edmonton.

Today, Alberta Ballet shares live dance performance with tens of thousands of Albertans and through Alberta Ballet School trains new generations of dancers.
